  BEWARE - DO NOT USE THE VILLAGE TAILORS FOR PROM OR WEDDING DRESS ALTERATIONS! My daughter’s £475 prom dress needed alterations to the hem and bodice, and they completely spoilt the dress. The evening was ruined due to the poor quality alterations that they carried out. The main issue being that my daughter had to walk around holding the dress up constantly. They originally botched up the alterations by twisting one of the bones, and then the bodice had just been tacked not sewn properly, wasn’t the right colour cotton and could clearly be seen from the outside of the dress on both sides, looking unslightly. Due to them being so busy the 2nd alterations werent completed until 3 days before the prom! They also attempted to shift the blame by saying that the dress wasnt suitable for her figure, and even said that it wasnt their place to advise of this, and that this was the responsibility of the shop from where the dress was purchased. Extremely rude. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
